From the very beginning of the fourth campaign, recently appointed game master Brennan Mulligan has kept fans guessing with deep backstory, a wide array of heroes, and a gripping narrative including celestial beings, fiends, and sinister influences increasing in influence within the city.
Heads-up: Key plot points for Episode 3 of the new season follow below.
The Warrior Group Revealed
The latest chapter ended with a huge suspense moment and introduced the first table of adventurers who will branch out from the main group to embark on their independent quest, separate from the remaining groups.
The combat-focused team features Teor (portrayed by the voice actor), Thimble (the talented performer), the fierce warrior (Whitney Moore), Wicander (Sam), and Kattigan Vale (Robbie Daymond).
Why Split the Party?
Given a large ensemble, it was obvious from the beginning that keeping everyone at one table would be unworkable.
That’s why, the first four episodes of this story serve as an Overture, intertwining the individual narratives before branching into three distinct groups: Warriors, Planners, and Questers.
The Nature of the Soldiers Table
According to Brennan Lee Mulligan, the warrior group is for players who enjoy a typically action-packed battle-oriented story mode where non-violent answers are few and far between.
Initially, figures such as the hesitant healer the cleric might seem mismatched, but the developments of the latest installment demonstrate why these particular heroes are ideally matched for the Soldiers table.
Why They Must Go
For one thing, the group understands precisely where to proceed after a intense initial meeting with the antagonists.
A former ally of Thjazi Fang—whose passing started the story’s plot—used the enemy for his own means, breaking into Thjazi’s hideout, attacking the character, and taking all the magical artifacts to auction.
The antagonist then settled his liabilities and ran away to a secure base in Gormalay, Timmony, beyond Dol-Makjar, with Teor’s brother pursuing him.
Individual Reasons
Additionally, each adventurer has a specific drive to depart the urban setting:
- The agile hero, as the close ally and trusted friend, wants vengeance.
- The adventurer has experience in Timmony and advises that it is a hostile environment.
- The strong character and The healer, having resisted his relatives’ demands to execute Teor and instead rescued him, have no other options.
- But, their status as prominent individuals in the powerful family could help the group access areas they usually can’t.
- Furthermore, The fighter vowed a eternal obligation to Wicander for his salvation and will now go with him everywhere.
Wanted and Hunted
Lastly, all of them are wanted by the authorities that govern Dol-Makjar for a multiple motives, making lingering locally dangerous:
- The rogue and Kattigan are notorious outlaws.
- Tyranny and The healer defied House Halovar and the legion of demons they are aligned with.
- The target is marked for death by the clan.
This leaves them no alternative but to head to Timmony in search of the traitor.
Upcoming Developments
According to the latest episode’s Cooldown, we learn that the warrior group won’t be around in the upcoming installment, leaving the remaining eight players to form the Questers and Strategists parties.
Viewers can anticipate finding out which characters will be where in Campaign 4’s concluding setup installment, released on next week.
